We are a not for profit community organisation, owned & controlled by our members – people who live & work in the Coventry area.
We are committed to thrift, education & equality.
Members’ savings are used to fund loans to other members at fair & reasonable interest rates, and the interest paid back on loans is used to fund a return on members’ savings.
We don’t have shareholders taking a slice of the profits. Instead everything we do benefits our members in the local community.
Coventry and District Credit Union began as a savings club in 1964 in Willenhall and registered as a Credit Union in 1990.
In 2001 then again in 2003 we merged with Stoke Aldermoor & Wood End Credit Unions. We currently have a city-wide remit, extending to some areas outside Coventry.
We are a member of The Association of British Credit Unions - ABCUL. We have been established for over 25 years and our work within Coventry is recognised by both Statutory and Voluntary Agencies.
